About the Department
The Diploma in Civil Engineering program at P.T. Lee Chengalvaraya Naicker Polytechnic College holds historical significance as it is the first technical institution in India. Established in 1939 under the affiliation of the Directorate of Technical Education with Government Aid, this program provides comprehensive training in structural analysis, transportation engineering, environmental engineering, and construction management.
With a focus on practical learning, students gain hands-on experience in drafting, surveying, and project management, preparing them for careers as civil engineering technicians, construction supervisors, surveyors, or further education in civil engineering.
Structural Design
Comprehensive training in structural analysis and design principles for various construction projects.
Transportation Engineering
Expertise in planning, design, and maintenance of transportation infrastructure.
Environmental Engineering
Focus on water resources, waste management, and sustainable development practices.
Construction Management
Practical skills in project planning, execution, and supervision of construction projects.
